Ubisoft announced today that Battle of Giants Dinosaurs has shipped to retailers nationwide and is available exclusively for the Nintendo DS. Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, Battle of Giants Dinosaurs will allow players to choose from 25 unique dinosaur species, explore and conquer a variety of terrain maps and fight against other dinosaurs.

Criterion Games and Electronic Arts announced today Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box. This "box" will include the Burnout Paradise game plus the previously-released Burnou™ Paradise Cagney and Burnout Paradise Bikes content updates, and the brand new Burnout Paradise Party content.

Burnout Paradise Party will be on display and available for free play at EA’s booth during the London Games Festival in Trafalgar Square from Oct 31 – Nov 1, 2008.

Now for the players that already own Burnout Paradise, Burnout Paradise Party will be sold separately as downloadable content.

        With this week’s PlayStation Store update Sony seems to have gone out of their way to provide gamers with far more content than anyone who has a job and doesn’t suffer from insomnia can handle.  Including several highly anticipated titles, this weeks PSN store update may just (but hopefully won’t) prove to be the biggest week that the service will enjoy.  Now, let’s make with the mind-boggling, thumb-destroying list.

 

• WipEout HD:  After what seems like a metric eternity,  SCE Studio Liverpool has unleashed their much awaited futuristic racing title for the appealing price point of $19.99.
• Burnout Paradise:  Not to be contented with one robust racing title on PSN this week, developer Criterion has turned their disc-based title into a fully featured PSN title that carries a $29.99 price tag.
• Megaman 9:  Capcom brings back Inafune’s titular little blue manservant for another round of stealing skills from the various and sundry bosses that have co-opted the Brady Bunch’s opening title.  Get down with Rockman for the moderate price of $9.99.  (Or just play the demo repeatedly and imagine the enemies being different for free.  And your parents said that your imagination would get you nowhere…)
• GEON Emotions:  “Bliss, rage, envy or fear … use the power of your 8 emotions to” purchase and play the title that XBL has had for the last year and a month.  You can get in on some GEON for $9.99.
• Various Rock Band songs:  Rock out like Geddy Lee and Neil Peart with Rush’s Moving Pictures.  There are a few other songs too, maybe you’re into them.  If you’re at all interested in this sort of thing you likely already know the pricing.

 

       There are also a few demos this week including NBA Live 09 and, on the complete opposite side of the spectrum, NBA 09.  As one could likely guess there are some videos that have been posted as well; Resistance 2 and Tomb Raider Underworld top the list.  Backgrounds and such also make an appearance along with a few PSP games that made the cut this week: Untold Legends and Puzzle Quest.  In a shocker to literally no one, there are still no PS1 classics worth writing home about.

Everybody loves a good treat, and Atlus has definitely been known to "spoil" its hardcore fans with numerous pre-order goodies and special collections. This holiday season Atlus will be doing the following pre-order bonuses for three anticipated RPGs, including:

• Persona 4 (PS2) - bonus CD soundtrack included in every copy; Persona 4 Visual Data, full color, 100 page 7''x10'' art book included in pre-orders
• Luminous Arc 2 (DS) - bonus CD soundtrack included in every copy; Luminous Art book, full color, 7''x10'' featuring characters from the entire series included in pre-orders

Some jokes that air on TV from Jay Leno are sometimes really stupid. Recently, Jay Leno made a joke regarding Nintendo's Wii by stating you can, "open a book and flip pages" Whoopiee. I think I fell out of my seat watching this.......

The Japanese trailer for the recently announced DS remake of Chrono Trigger is now available:



Things are looking good. The game is expected to hit store shelves by the end of the year.

Square Enix has officially announced that Chrono Trigger is coming to the DS. The game will feature an "all new dual-screen presentation and touch screen functionality" in addition to the inclusion of a new dungeon. Chrono Trigger for the DS is set for release this holiday season.

When the rumor hit over the weekend that several dozen Tecmo employees could be joining Tomonobu Itagaki in his lawsuit against the company, no one realized how much of an underestimate that number really was: Joystiq is reporting that Tecmo is being sued by all 300 of its employees.

Kotaku reported on the specifics of the suit, in which the workers claim that they were illegally placed on a "flexible hours" schedule and weren't paid the overtime that they feel they deserve. What's worse is that Tecmo may have created false documents while covering up accounting documents.

It looks like Tecmo's labor practices and failure to fulfill Japanese law by reporting Itagaki's lawsuit to shareholders on the same day as the filing could leave them in serious, serious legal trouble. We'll be sure to keep you updated as the drama continues to unfold.
